Safety Alerts

We have a great community with many of us, including lots of kids, taking advantage of the beautiful surrounds to walk, run, and ride bikes.  Many of you have commented to me lately that our streets seem to be more dangerous due to drivers talking on their cell phones and texting as they drive through the neighborhood.  I have also noticed this but admittedly have also been a guilty party.

I’d like to ask that we all try to refrain from using our communication devices for the two to three minutes that we drive through Tall Oaks.  THANKS!

PLEASE monitor your speed as you drive through the neighborhood especially with the increasingly dark hours.  Please continue to keep our neighborhood a safe place for children to play and dogs to walk.

ANNUAL HOMEOWNERS MEETING:

The 2010 annual Homeowners Association meeting has been scheduled for  Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010 at the Kildeer Village Hall.  Agenda and details will be forthcoming as the date approaches.

Two board member positions are up for reelection this October.  We will need two volunteers for the nominating committee – not even board members.    If you are interested, please contact Mark Kubow at mark@kubow.com or 847-550-5018.  We need volunteers!

COVENANTS, RESTRICTIONS AND CONDITIONS:

It is our intent to circulate the revised CCRs this summer and coordinate the vote to adopt the simplified document at the annual meeting in September.

LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE:

As everyone probably noticed, the "Burn" has been done on April 20th this year.  Theoretically, it probably should have been done 1-3 weeks earlier.  However, McGinty handled it the best they could and charged us accordingly.  McGinty can also do the Herbicide when necessary.

The following people have offered to help on the Landscape committee if ever needed and I thank-you :

Karen O'Neil
Diane Saber - Schwartz
Jessica Kubow
Melanie Kohn

Please let me know if you are no longer available.

I would like to give the job of the annual Burn and Herbicide to someone else to take over.  I handle all the regular maintenance with Midwest Arbor.  If anyone, including the above list is interested in handling the areas I have mentioned and would like to work with McGinty, I can supply contacts.  If anyone has other contacts for the Burn and Herbicide, this is also an option as long as it is financially acceptable. Please contact me with any feedback.  Thanks.   Liz         847-726-0391  or b.lizard@comcast.net

SOCIAL EVENTS:

Please watch for upcoming information from the social committee on our annual Block party at end of summer and a "Progressive BBQ" that's in the works for summer!

As always, if anyone has ideas or suggestions for events, please let us know.

In addition, if you are interested in helping with the social committee, please contact Laurie Haas (847-438-8445 ml-haas@comcast.net) or Annette Anderson (726-2880 andersonfamily05@sbcglobal.net).

OTHER BUSINESS:

The Village of Kildeer has a new web-site that is a good information source for other community issues and events - www.VillageOfKildeer.com

I’d like to thank Melanie Kohn for organizing the Earth Day clean-up which linked up well with the effort by the Village of Kildeer, noted below.  Special thanks to everybody who participated in keeping the neighborhood looking good!

Also, please let me know of any other suggestions you may have related to the operation and goals of the HOA.

Thank-you and have a great summer.

Mark
